The things I do for bread

With school going on every day, Monday thru Friday, I am completely exhausted with life! I only have 33 days left until I get a break but with that 4 wk break will also come boredom from not having hardly anything much to do. But anyways, no updates on my scholarship except the fact that if I do get it, it will affect my workstudy and cause me to work less hours at work, yes it sounds great at first but I still think I will get bored at times so I am hoping for a babysitting gig maybe once a week or a few times a month to help keep me not as bored, yet still be able to get homework done and get good grades.

The main reason I am writing is to tell you all what happened last night in my night class, but let's first back up a little bit... a few weeks ago my teacher brought in some Friendship bread with banana in it and it was amazing so I asked her can I please have the recipe? She kind of said no at first, but then brought it in last night... and now I know why she was a little hesitant. She did not only give me the recipe but also a starter, keep in mind I had no idea of the process.

I came home to read the instructions and found out it took 10 days to make it. What?! I aint got time for that! lol. I also found out that the idea and story behind the title Friendship literally means you make some and then this makes starter packs for friends.. excuse me but I do not have much of any friends currently, and none that definitely want to make some banana friendship bread. The majority of my friendships are one sided right now... meaning I do all the work. Don't get me wrong I love all of my friends but we all are very busy right now in our own little worlds, I feel like I am in limbo at times with all of them.

Gladly, I found a link on how to control my bread and make less for friends and more for me.. thank goodness I found a solution to a problem.

Poem

School has been going on for about 3 weeks now and I am already counting the days till Summer break. No, not Christmas, Summer. Yeah, I know it is awhile away for sure, but I am hopefully going to the beach if it all works out, and me and Chad have not been to the beach together so I think that would be nice.

Anyways, school has been filled with tons of homework and nonstop busyness. It is not hard homework really, just a lot of it. One of my teachers asked to make a poem based on the template we talked about in class, below is my poem and in parenthesis are the reasons why I put those things. I thought this was a good idea for our class really...

I am from Quilts, from Kit Kats and Mountain Dew.
I am from the old but warm, cozy apartment.
I am from the tree in the backyard, the daisy on my foot.
I am from fudge and big eyes, from Paula and Flynn and Leigh.
I am from the carefree and close nit.
From eat your vegetables and don’t stress.
I am from youth groups and service to others because we all come from the same place.
I’m from small town, bacon and eggs.
From the slide my cousin had when we were little, the time I fought with him over the slide because I really thought it was mine, and the hardworking Papaw that does not stop for nothing.
I am from underneath my mom’s bed, tons of pictures of the special bond we have and coloring pages. Mother and daughter turned best friends, a thing only a few people can relate to.

(Quilts = I always use to sleep with a raggedy quilt my great grandma had made for my mom, I still have it and claim its the best. Kit Kats = I use to love these as a kid, and still have cravings from time to time, it reminds me of my grandma's house when we were out at her pool. Mountain Dew = nothing can come between me and MD, I know its bad for you, but I cannot help myself, I love it!)

( I grew up in an apartment, it wasn't nice, but it was ours)

( I used to play around a tree in my backyard, and I have a daisy tattoo on my foot in remembrance of a friend.)

(Fudge = family tradition, Big eyes = my mom has pretty blue eyes, that change colors, mine do the same thing, my dad had big eyes, two things I now have and people love to notice about me. From Paula, Flynn, and Leigh = Paula is my mother's name, Flynn is my maiden name, Leigh is my married name.)

(Carefree and close nit = how my family is.)

(From eat your vegetables and don't stress = I was a daycare kid, yes born and raised, I guess that is what helped me a lot as far as being an only child, and these were the things they use to say to me.)

(Youth groups and service to others = I loved church growing up, and still do today. I was big time involved in youth group and loved every moment of it. And service to others means to me helping others as much as possible, the social worker in me.)

(Small town, Bacon and eggs = I really am from a small town, and bacon and eggs were a tradition between my grandma and I when I was little.)

(Slide = I really did fight my cousin for the slide at his house, because I had one just like it at my house and I thought he had took it, I was so mad I pulled the thing on top of me. Yes, we have it on video. Papaw = a great man that never stops at anything from work to love.)

(Underneath the bed = where all the memories and pictures from the past are, it really was just me and my mommy for as long as I can remember and we really did become best friends, we were all each other had.)

Sincerely,

mommy's girl

I'm your biggest fan!

thats my husband from forever ago, back in high school.

I do not know about you all but I am loving the Olympics on TV right now all the time, it gives me something to watch and like to truly watch. When I was little I use to love to watch the gymnastics and the ice skating during the winter Olympics.  I use to pretend I was ice skating across the carpet with my socks, when in the end all I got was a shock when I would finally sit down.

Now, I have a new favorite. Archery.

My husband use to do Archery in high school, which is harder than it looks. I am amazed by the sport and love it and I'm pretty good at it, if I would lay off the pop so I could steady my hand better. But, the story goes further than that, my husband went to training camp in California for the Olympics quite a few times during high school times, and said he would have stuck with it if it hadn't begun to become more like boot camp towards the end.

I love my husband to death and this is one of the many things I am proud of him for, and in awe of still today! he is a hardworker to the max especially when it comes to this. I just wish we could see Archery more on TV in the Olympics! ugh!

i love penguins!

the moment after my foot started healing enough to wear I could wear shoes again, I knew flip flops were a no no. Yes, I'll admit I still wear them from time to time because they are so easy to put on and quick, but only when I am going on quick trips. Nothing else! It still kills my foot to put that much pressure on it.

I knew if I was going to have to wear shoes they would have to be cute and comfortable. The moment I saw this post The Grant Life - Faux Toms Refashion I feel in love! especially with the price! $10 at Big Lots!

this is what I came up with. The Grant Life used Painter's Markers for hers, but the painter's markers I chose were too dark for the shoe. So I drew an outline of a penguin with the marker then went over it with acrylic paint. I drew the penguin outline by printing off a penguin on a piece of paper then cutting it out, and tracing it. The rest was free hand.

These two numbers are significant to me and Chad.

The "16" for the date me and Chad started dating way back when, October 16, 2009.

The "4" for the day we got married, June 4, 2011.

watch what you do... you're being watched

today in Sunday school we talked about how when God asks you to take on a certain role how great it is to have a support team behind you cheering you on as well as along with God. It got me thinking about all the things Chad has supported me through life, especially by just telling me to listen to my heart when I did not know what to do. Sometimes just sitting there and being patience is all you need to do.

Many of the times, I have gotten my answers from God about what I should be doing from speakers at church, praying, or reading the word.

When I figured out what God wanted me to do with my life, it was in all these forms.

Especially in church. It kept hitting me little and little until Sunday rolled around and it hit me like a ton of bricks. Like God saying here's a sign, here's a sign... HERE'S A SIGN!

and I just want to thank the people of the church, letting God speak through them time and time again. I know many of the times we feel like no one is listening or watching. But when you think people aren't, that is when they are.

Acting nice towards others I think in a way is supporting them as well. Saying I believe in you and want to make your day better so you'll do better says a lot.

Marvel > Mike

Today's agenda included seeing the new Spiderman movie along with a walk into PetSmart and Hastings. I do not like to see movies on the big screen much, because I find them wayy too costly just to see a movie. I love movies, but not enough to pay $10 for just me. I love the drive in more. (my dream is to own one when I retire)

but anyways,

Spiderman was awesome! I love Marvel movies. Every single one of them! I also love my husband for being a total nerd and being into them more than I am. When I was younger I wanted to go see movies like these all the time, but no I always got dragged to go to chick flicks with friends. Don't get me wrong I love chick flicks from time to time... but nowadays not so much.

Now that I have seen what I have been missing when it comes to action movies! and I think Hollywood has caught on that men are dragged to chick flicks, because you see way too many boob shots! I'm getting sick of it!

No wonder we are wired the way we are, women and men. Watch a genre that was created for men (especially those movies that are just stupid, funny) than watch one for women (mushy gushy), total opposite.

I just hope people do not get hung up on movies, because marriage is not like the movies. Its different. Its better.

sincerely,
in love with my marvelous man

home is small, but its ours!

my first ever DIY post! I love thinking that one day this blog will feature DIY posts more when me and my husband get our home! I love making crafts and decorating as well as reading and dreaming about doing these things.

Currently, we live on campus, in a campus apartment, its small and old but I love it. Its cheap, and on campus so we do not have to drive to school or work because we live on campus and work on campus as well. I love the community feel campus has and being able to enjoy friends over in seconds! And yes I still have sleepovers!

At first, we put posters on the walls for decorations because bricks are not necessarily nail friendly, but my friend introduced me to command strips a few months ago and I finally tried them... so far everything has stayed up since day one (fingers crossed). (now I'll let you know how they come down when I take them down)

But anyways... I was inspired HowDoesShe to do this project!

This project cost only 8 bucks and chances are a lot less if you have some of this stuff in your house. I bought picture frames from Wal-mart along with stickers. I already had construction paper and instead of scrapbook letters I wrote my husband's and he wrote mine.

Seemed more sentimental to me than. Even if he can't draw the greatest, (he thinks, not me) I still love it!

These are my boards, and both are dry erase. My husband can write me little notes in both, as well as I can write myself little to-do lists (like I did). I love farm life so that is why I chose the stickers.

As for my husband's I wrote fancier because I love doodling! and he loves to hunt!

Sincerely,

Young Love
